“Love” Mixed Media Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone! Sketch N Scrap 5th Birthday Bash Crop is happening this month, so crop with us all month long on the blog.  Today I want to share a layout with you that is inspired with the first exclusive birthday bash sketch layout designed by Heather on Sketch N Scrap.

I created a mixed media wedding layout. I really just scrapbook for fun and enjoying different techniques as I create. The background was inspired by videos I saw on youtube and it was really fun.

I first created the background with gesso and thread. The thread will be adhered with the gesso so there is no glue needed. Then I dripped some Magenta Liquitex ink  after it  dried. Then I sprayed some DIY yellow mist on it as well. I just love the texture and the effect of the background.

Then I diecut the wreath which was a free cutfile from Paper Issues with a white cardstock. I inked it lightly with Antique Linen distress ink for a subtle look. Then I went on a stamping and fussy cutting frenzy with the layering stamps from Altenew. (Painted Butterflies and Vintage Flowers) After I was done doing that, I adhered them along the wreath and added my photo and title and my stickers.

The process of this layout was actually very gratifying – ink dripping and mist spraying, the stamping and fussy cutting; lol it did take forever with the stamping and fussy cutting but that’s what a crafter does with her time right!

I scrapbook the photo of our wedding rings, and I love the intertwined thread behind it. It’s like our lives are joined/twisted together lol (don’t mind my abstract/logical thinking behind the layout)
