“Love”- travel Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone! I want to share a layout that involves again lots of stamping and detailed cutting of those stamped images.

Few years ago my husband and I traveled to Bali and had a photo shoot. The photographer used a different lens that captured this photo – it made us look like we were standing on top on the world. It was so pretty and pretty cool!

"Love" travel Scrapbook layout

I used a free cutfile from Paper Issues and cut out the love script heart with my Cameo. I used some papers and embellishments from Altenew Reflection Scrapbooking Kit. I would say I had a blast stamping all those flowers and leaves and then cut them out with my scissors. I probably could have used my PicScan to cut them out but I was worried I might ruined them if I made a mistake with the cutlines.  The flowers are from Altenew Beautiful Day and Garden Treasure stamp sets.

My layout was inspired by Altenew Sketch Challenge :

Sketch N Scrap: Scenic Trail Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone! It’s another sketch layout day with Sketch N Scrap. Today I am sharing another outdoor scrapbook layout inspired by the sketch Heather designed on the blog today!

May 15th SNS

I loved the interest of the sketch that it is offset to an angle so in my layout, the placement can be a little wonky and offset. I do loved how the layout turned out.

Scenic Trail Scrapbook Layout

I decided to use a cutfile for my background. It is called ‘Going in circles’ (it’s a free cutfile from Paper Issues) which I thought was fitting for our outdoor trip although we did not go in circles that much – maybe just a little! I diecut it with a piece of patterned paper from Crate Paper Hello Love. I wanted to adhere it to a white cardstock but thought it was too plain, so I added some watercolors with some Distress Inks. After I adhered the die cut, I adhered my photo, and decided to embellish it with fussy cut flowers from a floral patterned paper from Dear Lizzy Documentary.  I may have gone overboard with the florals (lol) Then I finished my layout with my title that I cut with my Cameo.

Hop over to Sketch N Scrap and check out more inspiration from the design team members. I hope you will join us this month with our sketches and I do hope you are joining our Facebook event for Sketch N Scrap 5th Birthday Bash crop! We would love to see your creations!

“Warsaw Caves” Scrapbook Layout

Hello everyone! Today I have a two-page scrapbook layout to share with you. This layout was inspired by a sketch on Scrapbook & Cards Today during the (inter) National Scrapbook Day.

I want to share another outdoor layout today and I am glad I can put it in a double page layout.

Warsaw Caves Scrapbook Layout for SCT sketch Challenge

It was definitely a fun trip to the caves and walking along the hiking trail. I have to say we were pretty adventurous in this trip.

I used papers from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection, and used journaling cards from Simple Stories. I diecut the leaves in white as subtle embellishments because I did not want the layout to get too busy. I also added other bits and pieces of emphera to complete the layout.  I was most excited to use my new gel pens for journaling. I had forgotten my love for metallic and glitter gel pens.

Just a short post today sharing my fun outdoor “travel” layout! Thanks for stopping by and Happy crafting!

“Simply Lovely” Scrapbook layout

I managed to get another layout done today that I thought I would share with you.

My Mind's Eye papers simply lovely scrapbook layout

I made this layout based on a sketch over at Let’s Get Sketchy.  Head over there for more inspiration and ideas.

This picture was a selfie picture taken at a friend’s wedding. I love scrapping selfies or rather I love taking selfies..(Not sure how many times I have mentioned that.) I mean, there were other people who could take the picture for us, but I rather just do it myself; even though the quality might not be too great..like not in frame or out of focus etc.. weird I am..

Supplies used:

  • Papers from My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found, Lost and Found Christmas, Chalk Studio collection
  • Elmers washi tape ( I tore it in half and tape it around the page to replace the stitching from the sketch)
  • Teresa Collins She Said stamp set ( Flowers stamped on MME papers and fussy cut out; leaves were handcut also)
  • Crushed Olive Distress Ink ( I colored the flowers and leaves to make the colors blend more with the overall layout)
  • American Crafts Knockouts Border Punches

I enjoyed creating this layout. The 6×6 paper from My Mind’s Eye Chalk Studio is perfect for my page title. I did not need to add any alphabet stickers. I was quite happy I was able to create embellishments from the stamp set. The flower stamp is so pretty! Making my own embellishments definitely is a great way to save money and also use up the papers I have in my stash. Hope you would try making your own embellishments from papers/stamps/punches!

Here is a close up picture of the flowers:

“Hello Mr Shark” Scrapbook Layout

I saw a post by Jen Stokes on Facebook on Saturday that she was doing a giveaway on her YouTube channel to celebrate 500 subscribers and it was a layout challenge; we can either scraplift her layouts or make a layout inspired by her previous layouts. I thought it was a cool and fun challenge. You can check out her blog: Scraps by Jen or her youtube channel: Scrapsbyjen. She is one talented lady!

I scraplifted one of her earlier layouts done in March. Totally loved the diagonal stripes. I thought it was a great idea to use up some papers in my stash. Her original layout can be found here: Scraps by Jen.

This is my layout:

Hello Mr Shark aquarium scrapbook layout

It was a photo of my husband’s grandmother looking at the sharks while we were at the aquarium. She is 87 years old this year and still quite healthy. She loved this trip! Her favorite TV channel is the Oasis channel. She loves watching nature, and animals and wildlife and etc. While she was there, she was quite fascinated with the aqualife. She kept saying ” oh i saw this on tv!” I have never been to the Toronto Aquarium before either; I was quite fascinated too. LOL

I just loved how cute this layout is with the title and the stripe background! So thanks Jen for the inspiration.

Here is the close up picture of the stitched title:

While I was visiting Jennifer’s blog, I saw one of her more recent layouts and totally love it and I scraplifted another one! It was a layout she did with the punched out circles with no photo; you can see it here. I wanted to do a layout of the aquarium tickets so it is perfect. I just use my leftover papers from my earlier layout from all the diagonal stripes. Super great!

Scrapbook memorabilia aquarium tickets

I made a pocket from vellum so I can still see through the tickets. Loved the tickets; it had different marine life printed on each ticket. I added foam tape to alternate circles for more dimension.

Supplies used:

  • Recollections My Favorite Things Paper Pad
  • Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses alphabet stickers
  • Basic Grey Marjolaine alphabet stickers
  • Red heart gems
  • We r Memory Keepers Sew Easy Script Template
  • Recollections washi tape

Scrapbook Memorabilia – Aquarium guidebook

Hello, I am back today with another scrapbook layout share.

As a scrapbooker, I really do keep everything and save everything! For example, saving ticket stubs/movie tickets, paying surcharge to get the nice printed tickets at a show/musical/event, boarding passes, wedding invitations, wedding menu, the list can go on! I also like to buy and keep programs or guide books at musicals/shows/museums.Those items that I collect definitely will live in my scrapbook album.

I bought a guidebook about the aquarium couple weeks ago and I wanted to scrapbook it.

Here is my layout:

scrapbook memorabilia of aquarium guidebook

I am actually quite pleased with the layout because the supplies I used are something I had in my stash forever and did not know quite how to use it. I used those fish brads and the aqua life ribbon which fit the theme of the layout perfectly. I made the pocket for the guidebook out of cardstock. You can easily slide it out from the page protectors to read.

This layout came together very quickly. I used a sketch over at My Scraps & More Sketches, to help with my process. You can check out their blog for more inspiration.

Here are some close ups of the embellishments I used:

Supplies used:

  • Papers from Tinkering Ink
  • October Afternoon Peacock Blue Sticky Keys
  • Recollections Fish Brads
  • Scattered Straw Distress ink (to color in the motifs)
  • Kaisercraft Rock Pool ribbon

#RightNow Scrapbook layout

I went to a wedding 2 weeks ago, and we took a lot of pictures. Funny thing is we only managed to snap a few WITH the bride and groom! We definitely have way more photos of ourselves.

Here is my layout:

Instalove scrapbook layout

These are the group pictures of just the guys and one photo of the girls only. I did position the photos that way so they are all sort of focus in the center. (eg like how the angle they stood for the photo). I entitled the layout #RightNow to describe us right at this moment and subtitled it “InstaLove”.

I want to talk a little bit about the phrase “InstaLove”. I decided to use it because I have seen stickers that had “InstaLove” on it and thought it would be cool to handstitched it to my layout. Honestly, I did not really know what that means; I thought it was like “love this instant, or love instagram”. But it really means young adults love at first sight? Or was it falling in love very soon after they meet? Mostly for the girls part.. These days there are so many modern words out there now, or simple words/phrases are being used for other meanings; when you check urban dictionary on google, you can really find out pretty interesting stuff. Anyways, I am not bothered with urban dictionary meaning for that phrase. I am using “Instalove” for “loving this instant; loving this moment in time”!

I made this layout inspired by a sketch over at Sketch~N~Scrap. Check out their blog for more inspiration!

“Under the Glass” Scrapbook Layout

Today I have a layout to share. It was really quick and easy to make actually. I used the Heidi Swapp No Limits paper pad. The embellishments are cut out from the paper pad too. We went to the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada couple weeks ago and I am finally scrapping those photos. Turns out A LOT of photos were a little blurry; we took a lot of selfies; but it is okay, what can we do..  I don’t mind it as much and I still scrapbook those selfies and blurry photos. I find that I will still print those blurry photos and scrapbook those memories because those are the ONLY photos I have.

Here is my layout:

heidi swapp aquarium scrapbook layout

I used a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap for inspiration and made the process much faster too.

Supplies used:

  • Heidi Swapp No Limits Paper Pad
  • Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Alphabet stickers

Will you scrapbook photos that are not the best quality? Any tips on taking clear photos? Share with me by leaving a comment!

Thanks for stopping by. Happy crafting.

Bubbles Floating Wedding Scrapbook Layout

I have another wedding scrapbook layout to share today. I diecut my flowers again with the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Confetti die. I really do not want to sound like a broken record, but I really do love the flowers. (No, Crate Paper did not pay me for advertising their product, lol) I feel it really enhances the “pretty-ness” of my layout.

Here is my layout:

love today: bubbles scrapbook layout

This picture was taken in a park. I told my husband we must have bubbles in some of our wedding pictures. I personally LOVE bubbles. You can get pretty big bubbles from these bubble wands . It reminds me of my happy and fun childhood. I loved seeing the beautiful rainbow colors reflected in the floating bubbles, romantic feelings, so lovey and dreamy……. and to add to the fun, I got these cute big glasses from Michaels. My husband wore the pink and I wore the blue, just to switch up the typical boy/girl colors.

My inspiration for this layout came from a sketch from Scrap Our Stash; I will also enter this layout to the Sketch Challenge #26. Sketch Challenge #26 - Add Handmade Flowers

The circles just reminded me of my floating bubbles. Check out their blog for more inspiration.

Supplies used:

  1. Most of the papers are from Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Flea Market
  2. Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Confetti Die
  3. Martha Stewart Doilies Stamp Set
  4. Kaisercraft Polaroid Die
  5. We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Script Template
  6. American Crafts Thickers Mosaic
  7. American Crafts Thickers: Amy Tangerine – Muse

On the background paper ( loved the hearts bokeh effect paper), I stamped the page with the different doilies stamp inspired by the circles from the sketch. Check out the DIY round epoxy stickers. I loved how DIY stickers can be customized however you like.

The sketch challenge did require to add handmade flowers. I think I might have went overboard with the flowers, but I still love it! I did add a smaller cluster of the flowers on the bottom left, just to balance out the layout and forming more of a visual triangle in a page design. Instead of journaling strips; I added strips of emotions. More like how I felt at the moment when the picture was taken.

I diecut the Love polaroid diecut and also added the hand-stitched Today to my photo mat. It really makes stitching so much easier with a template. I colored my title ‘bubbles’ with a black sharpie to have some contrast in my layout since the original color of the thickers was white. I liked how the entire page had different texture and dimension from the stickers, the pop up flower diecuts and stitching.

So happy to have another wedding scrapbook page done! I think it turn out not too bad! lol Thanks for stopping by, Happy crafting.

Scrapbooking Wedding Layouts – Happiness Scrapbook layout

It is about time  I scrapbook my wedding album. I have been married for two years already and I have not done many pages at all. For some reason I am not entirely sure how to scrapbook my wedding photos. I watched many videos and go on Pinterest for inspirations and etc. I still struggled a lot.  Tips I got on how to scrapbook my wedding album, to make everything look cohesive like one album was:

  1. Use the same color schemes along the whole album (examples: like wedding colors, scrapbook supplies – I always have red/pink paper).
  2. Try to use the same design/shapes of embellishments along the whole album (examples: maybe flowers, hearts, camera, butterflies) which is not hard because I have so many flower/camera/hearts/butterfly stamps and dies and punches! lol

I just think I should not be stressed about it, and just try to scrapbook whenever I can and also scrapbook using my stash. I really accumulated a lot of supplies over the years and need to start to make a dent in my stash. I will not give myself a deadline on when I will finish my album. I just want to enjoy the process. I will say to those out there who struggled with wedding layouts as well, just don’t stress or over-think it and just get started.

Today I want to share a layout with you.

Happiness wedding scrapbook layout

It is a picture taken with my Matron of Honor. She flew from Melbourne to Toronto just for my big day.  In the picture, I am wearing a traditional Chinese wedding dress called “Qun Kwa 裙褂” – It is a two-piece dress. The red color in Chinese tradition symbolize prosperity, good luck and happiness. The design is always a dragon to represent the groom and phoenix to represent the bride. The detail on this dress is so beautiful and intricate. Everything is hand-embroidered with the gold and silver thread. It was really a once in a lifetime opportunity to wear it, so I rented it to wear for my traditional tea ceremony. Best decision ever! lol

Like I mentioned earlier, I struggled with wedding photo layouts, so I drew inspiration from a sketch

It makes deciding on a page design a lot easier. It is also fun and enabled me to discover the supplies I have in my stash that I completely forgot! The sketch can be found on http://sketchabilities.blogspot.ca  Head over there for more inspiration. I will enter this layout as well into their sketch challenge.

Supplies used:

  • Background paper – from Crate Paper Portrait Collection
  • White cardstock
  • Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Confetti Die
  • American Crafts Thickers Mosaic
  • American Crafts Knock Outs Punch
  • Papers used for flowers and photo mat from Crate Paper Flea Market Collection.

Here some close- up pictures. ( I loved the CP die so much)
