Hello everyone! Sorry my Gelli Print Fridays is a day late – today is Gelli Print Saturday! lol
I saw a blog post two weeks ago on GelliArts on using rosettes on the gelliplate and I knew I had to try it! I make paper rosettes all the time for cards and scrapbooking but had never thought about using it for texture on the gelliplate. I had several leftover in different sizes in my stash. It makes the most fun starburst effect on the gelliplate.
I used these rosettes like a stamp or I just twisted it down the plate for a deeper effect. Different sizes rosettes create different lines and effect. I also used some stencils and corrugated cardstock for some different texture effects. Some of my favorite prints –
I wanted to make a framed art piece with one of the geliprints. I chose this print –
I wanted to make something 3D mixed media art, I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut some butterflies. It s a free cut file from Silhouette Design Store. I cut it out with some black cardstock and heat embossed it with some snow embossing powder after I stamped the butterflies with a script stamp. Then I stamped the butterflies again with a different texture stamp and heat embossed it again with some sparkly gold embossing powder. It created an interesting effect and dimension. You can see it better on the sentiment ” FREE” which I cut out with my Cameo as well. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment the same way.
I stamped the gelliprint with texture stamp as well to create some interest. Before I adhered everything, I added some metallic yellow thread for extra texture.
Supplies: Paper: Copy paper, yellow copy paper Cardstock: Recollections Embossing Powder: Recollections Snow, Judikins Black Opal Paint: DecoArt Stencils: DIY stencils cutter Stamps: Kaisercraft Triangles, Dictionary Meaning Ink: Ranger Archival, Versamark Tools: Gelliarts 8×10 GelliPlate, Silhouette Cameo, Martha Stewart Heat Tool, Martha Stewart Multipurpose Heat Tool (DIY stencils)
I decided to make a framed art as I was inspired by a challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – to make your own background. I think for my first framed mixed media art, it turned out pretty cool! I just love the dimension! I have to say, with the gelliplate it really enable me to create the most awesome backgrounds!
