Hello everyone! Wishing those that celebrate the lunar new year, a wonderful “Happy Lunar New Year” and may all your wishes come true in the Monkey year!
I have a card to share with you today to celebrate the lunar year.
I used the small flowers from Altenew’s Vintage Flowers stamp set. The flowers resembles the plum blossoms that are often used for the festive season and decorations at home. I only layered two of the stamps together using Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe and Waffle Flower Crafts #6 Rose Bud. The branch stamp I used Hero Arts Cup O Joe ink.
For my sentiment, I used my new Silhouette Cameo to die cut “新年快乐” (Simplified Chinese characters for Happy new Year) on gold foil cardstock. It’s so easy – I literally copy and paste the Chinese characters into the Silhouette Studio program and cut it out. I did move the strokes of the character closer and weld it together so that it can cut out as one word. I am so in love with my Cameo and can’t wait to share more projects on the blog in the future.
I adhered the card panel onto red cardstock and added a strip of gold foil cardstock to the card. Most lunar new year cards are usually in red and gold.
A close up of the card to reflect the shiny gold.
Just a simple card to share today and wishing everyone good health and good fortune in the Monkey year. Thanks for stopping by and Happy crafting!
BEAUTIFUL card Karen!
